Poker Room

Card Player Cruises proudly features a professional, fully staffed, non-smoking poker room. The poker room is usually open for play immediately after the first-seating dinner on your departure day. The poker room remains open throughout most of the cruise except when the ship is in port. Free beginner lessons for novices are offered, followed by a low limit hold'em game for beginners only.

The Card Player Cruises staff will be happy to spread any game and limit that enough players want to play. A general guideline regarding the games and limits on most cruises is as follows:

Limit hold'em: $2/$4 – $4-$8 and higher upon request
No–limit hold'em: $1/3, $2/5, and higher upon request
Omaha/8: $4/8 and often higher ($10/20 on up).
Mixed games: Mixed games upon request Tournaments will be announced.

The RPT 2020 has been cancelled, all satellite winners have been moved to the 2021 event which will be held on board the Oasis of the Seas, sailing from Miami December 12th to the West of the Caribbean. The Royal Poker Tournament (RPT) is an in house Royal Caribbean No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker tournament. The 2021 event will be held on board the amazing Oasis of the Seas.

The Royal Poker Tournament is a perfect way to mix poker with a cruise vacation. The conference rooms are transformed into a fully functional 22 table card room with busy cash games, additional tournaments, and of course the RPT Main Event.

The card room staff and management is carefully selected from the Royal Caribbean fleet. The staff are brought on to the ship specifically for the Royal Poker Tournament Event. The selection process for RPT staff is in depth and it is generally recognized as an achievement to be selected for such an event.

The RPT was developed in 2006 by Daniel Samson and the late Stuart Reading (Director of Casino Operations for Royal Caribbean) . The first event in 2007 wasn't actually called the Royal Poker Tournament it was called the Mariner Masters. Only players who had won a satellite on the Mariner of the Seas qualified for the event.

What Poker info can you give me?The RPT Main Event has a 10k starting stack, 30 min clock, blinds start at 25/50, 9 players per table, re-entry allowed. Cash games from $1-$3 to $5-$10 plus additional tournaments from $100-$500 buyin throughout the week. The currency used on board is the U.S dollar. Guests can withdraw funds at the card room cash desk using their SeaPass card issued by the cruise line which needs to be backed by a credit/bank card.
